Stalprodukt won the 3rd position in the 5th edition of the “Pearl of the Polish Economy” ranking. The Final Ceremony took place at the Royal Castle in Warsaw on 16 November. Altogether, 127 companies were honored with awards.

The “Pearl of the Polish Economy” ranking has been jointly organized for five years by the “Polish Market” English language economic monthly and the Institute of Economic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The honorable patronage has been exercised by the Minister of Economy and European Commissioner for Regional Policy Danuta Huebner.

The 2007 Pearl of the Polish Economy prize winners in the category of companies with an annual turnover exceeding 1 billion were: BSH Sprzęt Gospodarstwa Domowego [BSH Household Equipment Manufacturer], KGHM Polska Miedź SA [Polish Copper Joint Stock Company] and Stalprodukt. In the category of companies with an annual turnover of PLN 100 million the prize winners were: Huta Batory SA [the Batory Steel Works], Dom Development SA and J.W. Construction Holding SA.

In the opinion of the organizers, the “Pearl of the Polish Economy” ranking provides “the most objective positioning of enterprises”. It is based on the ratios which help to assess the whole of their activities, and the position in the ranking depends, not only on the company’s format measured in terms of the total turnover, but also on the efficiency, dynamics and financial liquidity. Around 1.000 enterprises whose total turnover exceeds PLN 100 million take part in the ranking.

This year the event was held under the media patronage of: the Polish Radio, TVP Polish Television, TVP Polonia and “Puls Biznesu” [the Pulse of Business magazine]..
